This privacy policy ("Policy") describes how Ion Layer, Inc. ("Ion", "Ion Layer", "we", "us" or "our") collects, protects and uses the personally identifiable information ("Personal Information") you ("User", "you" or "your") may provide on IonLayer.com (the “Website”, and collectively with any affiliated mobile application (“App”), the “Sites”). It also describes the choices available to you regarding our use of your Personal Information and how you can access and update this information. This Policy does not apply to the practices of companies that we do not own or control, or to individuals that we do not employ or manage.
Overview of Ion Layer services
Ion Layer takes privacy extremely seriously and exceeds industry standards for the secure storage and facilitation of your personal data.
Ion Layer provides a platform to facilitate a consultation between affiliated Providers and you. Ion Layer does not provide medical services, including via the Sites or Services. As part of the facilitated consultation, any personal information collected on behalf of you and the Provider is encrypted, accessed, and transmitted in a manner compliant with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) regulations, even though Ion Layer is not a Covered Entity and not subject to HIPAA regulations.
Ion Layer also provides software and resources for you to optimize your diet and wellness. Personally identifiable information you share with Ion Layer in the course of using features related to this area will only be used by Ion Layer and its affiliates in manners described below to enable your use of the Service. You maintain control of your data and can view or opt-out of sharing data with Ion Layer, although in doing so, some features and content may stop working or be available for you.
Collection of personal information
We receive and store any information you knowingly provide to us when you create an account, publish content, make a purchase, fill any online forms on the Sites, or engage with Ion Layer and its affiliates. When required this information may include your email address, name, phone number, address, credit card information, or other Personal Information. You can choose not to provide us with certain information, but then you may not be able to take advantage of some of the Sites’ features. Users who are uncertain about what information is mandatory are welcome to contact us.
Automatic collection of information
When you visit the Sites our servers automatically record information sent by your web browser or mobile application. This data may include information such as your device's IP address, browser type and version, operating system type and version, language preferences or the webpage you were visiting before you came to our Sites, pages of our Sites that you visit, the time spent on those pages, information you search for on our Sites, access times and dates, and other statistics.
Use of collected information
Any of the information we collect from you may be used to personalize your experience; improve our Sites; improve customer service and respond to queries and emails of our customers; process transactions; send newsletters; send notification emails such as password reminders, updates, etc; run and operate our Website and Services. Personal information may also be used in aggregate, anonymized fashion to train and improve Ion Layer products, content, and services so that we can provide you and other users better insights and other wellness related factors.
Non-Personal Information collected is used only to identify potential cases of abuse and establish statistical information regarding Website usage. This statistical information is not otherwise aggregated in such a way that would identify any particular user of the system.
Collection of Information from Third Party Applications
You may have the option of integrating your Ion Layer account with Apple Health or Google Fit and third party applications that integrate with Apple Health or Google Fit. If you choose to do so, we may request your permission to access Personal Data about you from Apple or Google and from third party applications. We cannot access this information without your permission.
If you choose to integrate your Ion Layer account with Apple Health or Google Fit, Ion Layer will sync only the information you granted permission from Apple or Google and present and store the data in the Ion Layer app and ion layer servers. The information you choose to send from Apple Health or Google Fit is not used by Ion Layer for marketing and advertising or transferred by Ion Layer to third parties for marketing and advertising. The third-party information you share with Ion Layer is used to improve your Ion Layer experience, for example, by making it easier to automatically import your workouts and for showing your wellness data in context of Ion Layer's reports.
When enabling Apple Health or Google Fit integrations, you will be able to choose which data types you want to sync. The possible options include but are not limited to: heart rate, workouts, sleep, and steps. Ion Layer may use workout, sleep, and step information to automatically create activities for you, so you don't have to duplicate log entry again in Ion Layer if you're already tracking using a 3rd party app (like Strava) to manage workouts. Ion Layer also may use heart rate, sleep, steps, and workout activities to show these metrics in relation to the overall health goals, suggestions, and content recommendations.
Billing and payments
We use third-party payment processors to assist us in processing your payment information securely. Such third-party processors' use of your Personal Information is governed by their respective privacy policies which may or may not contain privacy protections as protective as this Privacy Policy. We suggest that you review their respective privacy policies.
Product and service providers
We may contract with other companies to provide certain products and services. These service providers are not authorized to use or disclose the information except as necessary to perform services on our behalf or comply with legal requirements. We may share Personal Information for these purposes only with third-parties whose privacy policies are consistent with ours or who agree to abide by our policies with respect to Personal Information. Our service providers are given the information they need to perform their designated functions, and we do not authorize them to use or disclose Personal Information for their own marketing or other purposes.
Privacy of children
We do not knowingly collect any Personal Information from children under the age of 13. If you are under the age of 13, please do not submit any Personal Information through our Website or Service. We encourage parents and legal guardians to monitor their children's Internet usage and to help enforce this Policy by instructing their children never to provide Personal Information through our Website or Service without their permission. However, you will continue to receive essential transactional emails.

Do Not Track signals
